The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is designed for adults who seek to know about God and desire to enter the Christian faith.  This journey of faith is designed for adults who are

• Not baptized
• Baptized in another Christian denomination and desire to learn about and possibly join the Catholic Church
• Baptized in the Catholic Church and are seeking the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist

Each candidate’s spiritual journey is unique and their time of preparation depends on their circumstances.  During preparation, the candidates are instructed in the Christian tradition, attend special retreats and participate in several rites.  Following preparation, unbaptized candidates receive Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist at one celebration, usually the Easter Vigil.   Baptized candidates also receive Confirmation and Eucharist at the same time.

OLHOC offers RCIA classes in English and Spanish. 

The RCIA class in English is held on Wednesday evening from 7:00 PM – 9 PM. 

  New candidates are encouraged to join at any time during the year.
