Praying For Leo XIV

May 23, 2025I believe that our new Pope Leo XIV is truly the choice of the Holy Spirit, and I will keep praying for our Pope daily. There is unanimity that Leo XIV can bring Unity to the Catholic Church together with a new approach to evangelization in a world more and more secular. This is a most challenging task, and the Holy Spirit is inviting each Catholic to pray for him. Can you pray for our new Pope daily? It will take you only five minutes: one Our Father, one Hail Mary and one Glory be. Our 27 Jubilee pilgrims did this short prayer together 3 times daily inspired by the qualities (including holiness, humility, and love) and extraordinary experience of our new pope.
Pope Leo XIV has indeed quite an unique experience: world leader of a religious order for 10 years (Superior General of the traditional Augustinian Order established in the 13th century), young Augustinian missionary to the poorest in Peru, bishop of the large diocese of Chiclayo in Northern Peru for 8 years: from early 2015 through January 2023 when Pope Francis appointed him to the important dicastery of bishops in Rome and made him Cardinal.
I personally believe that the enemies of the Catholic Church will attack constantly such a young pope (10 years younger than I and full of spiritual energy) who can bring a major renewal of the Church in an atheist society.
I also believe that if each one of the 1.4 billion Catholics were to pray daily for the Pope, the Church will become more United, Stronger spiritually and be a greater Evangelizer.

Father in heaven, may the faith you have given us in your son, Jesus Christ, our brother, and the flame of charity enkindled in our hearts by the Holy Spirit, reawaken in us the blessed hope for the coming of your Kingdom.
May your grace transform us into tireless cultivators of the seeds of the Gospel. May those seeds transform from within both humanity and the whole cosmos in the sure expectation of a new heaven and a new earth,
when, with the powers of Evil vanquished, your glory will shine eternally.
May the grace of the Jubilee reawaken in us, Pilgrims of Hope,
a yearning for the treasures of heaven.
May that same grace spread the joy and peace of our Redeemer throughout the earth. To you our God, eternally blessed, be glory and praise for ever.
AmenYo creo que nuestro nuevo Papa Leo XIV es verdaderamente la elección por el Espíritu Santo y seguiremos orando diariamente por nuestro Papa. Hay unanimidad en que Leo XIV puede traer unificación a la Iglesia Católica junto a un nuevo acercamiento hacia la evangelización en un mundo mucho más secular. Esta es la tarea más desafiante y el Espíritu Santo está invitando a cada Catolico a orar por él. ¿Puedes orar por el Papa a diario? Solo te tomará cinco minutos: un-Padre Nuestro, un-Ave Maria y un-Gloria. Nuestros 27 peregrinos Jubilares hicieron esta corta oración juntos tres veces inspirados por sus cualidades (incluyendo santidad, humildad y amor) y la extraordinaria experiencia de nuestro nuevo Papa. El Papa Leo XIV tiene una experiencia única: lider mundial de una orden religiosa por 10 años (el Superior General of the traditional Orden Agustiniana establecida en el Siglo 13), joven misionero Agustino con los pobres en Perú, Obispo de una Diócesis grande en Chiclayo en el Norte de Perú por 8 años: desde inicios del 2015 hasta enero del 2023 cuando el Papa Francisco lo nombró a un Dicasterio importante de los Obispos de Roma y lo hizo Cardenal.
Personalmente creo que los enemigos de la Iglesia Católica atacan constantemente al joven Papa (10 años menor que yo, y lleno de energía espiritual) quien puede traer una gran renovación a la Iglesia en una sociedad atea. Creo que si cada uno de los 1.4 billones de Catolico estuvieran orando por el Papa a diario, la Iglesia será más Unida, espiritualmente Fuerte y una gran Evangelizadora.
Hoy, también recemos juntos la Oración del Jubileo que escribió el Papa Francisco:Oración del Jubileo
Padre que estás en el cielo,
la fe que nos has donado en
tu Hijo Jesucristo, nuestro hermano,
y la llama de caridad
infundida en nuestros corazones por el Es- píritu Santo,
despierten en nosotros la bienaventurada esperanza
en la venida de tu Reino.
Tu gracia nos transforme
en dedicados cultivadores de las semillas del Evangelio
que fermenten la humanidad y el cosmos,
en espera confiada
de los cielos nuevos y de la tierra nueva,
cuando vencidas las fuerzas del mal, se manifestará para siempre tu gloria.
La gracia del Jubileo reavive en nosotros, Peregrinos de Esperanza,
el anhelo de los bienes celestiales y derrame en el mundo entero la alegría y la paz
de nuestro Redentor.
