Let us pray.

The above plenary indulgence is granted under the three usual conditions: sacramental confession, Eucharistic Communion , prayer for the Pope's intention, all with a spirit of detachment from any sin. Because of the Pandemic, Pope Francis is also granting the gift of plenary indulgence to the sick, the elderly, the dying and all those who for legitimate reasons are unable to leave their homes. They have to be detached from any sin and have the intention of fulfilling, as soon as possible, the three above mentioned usual conditions and recite an act of piety (for our parishioners this Sunday, it will be the above Litany of St Joseph) offering to God the pains and hardships of their lives. There are many other ways to be granted a plenary indulgence throughout the Year of St Joseph (ending December 8, 2021). You can read the Vatican's announcement of December 8 (on the Internet) or go to our website, click here. Stay tuned for further announcements!
We can claim the plenary indulgence for ourselves or offer it for someone who has died. A plenary indulgence removes all the temporal punishment due to sin (as opposed to a partial one removing only a part). If you seek further understanding, I suggest you read the section on Indulgences in the Catechism of the Catholic Church: paragraphs 1471-1479 (click here to read)
Let us pray:
O God, help us to understand the model of fatherhood exemplified by St Joseph and assist all our families to be inspired by the HOLY FAMILY's examples of faith, hope and love!
One in Christ,
Fr. Alain
