Padre Pio's Inspirational Prayer After Communion

October 20, 2023Padre Pio loved the Eucharist!! Padre Pio spent hours in prayer before Mass and often entered into ecstasy while celebrating the Eucharist—an inspiration for our entire parish as we just entered into the Year of Renewed: Renewed in the Eucharist! Renewed in Christ!
Today, I am asking each of you to slowly read and meditate upon Padre Pio’s beautiful and inspirational Prayer After Communion:
1. Stay with me Lord, for it is necessary to have You present so that I do not forget you. You know how easily I abandon You.
2. Stay with me Lord, because I am weak and need your strength.
3. Stay with me Lord, for You are my life, and without You, I am without fervor.
4. Stay with me Lord, for You are my Light, and without You, I am in darkness.
5. Stay with me Lord, to show me Your will.
6. Stay with me Lord, so that I hear Your Voice and follow You.7. Stay with me Lord, for I desire to love You very much, and to always be in your company.
8. Stay with me Lord, if You wish me to be faithful to You.
9. Stay with me Lord, for as poor as my soul is, I want it to be a place of Consolation for You, a nest of Love.
10. Stay with me Jesus, for it is getting late, and the day is coming to a close, and life passes; death, judgement, eternity approaches. It is necessary to renew my strength, so that I will not stop along the way and for that, I need you. It is getting late and death approaches. I fear the darkness, the temptations, the dryness, the cross, the sorrows. O how I need You, my Jesus, in this night of exile!
11. Stay with me tonight, Jesus, in life with all its dangers. I need You. Let me recognize You as Your disciples did at the breaking of the bread, so that the Eucharistic Communion be the Light which disperses the darkness, the force which sustains me, the unique joy of my heart.
12. Stay with me, Lord, because at the hour of my death, I want to remain united to You, if not by communion, at least by grace and love.
13. Stay with me, Jesus, I do not ask for divine consolation, because I do not merit it, but the gift of Your Presence, oh yes, I ask this of You!
14. Stay with me, Lord, for it is You alone I look for, Your Love, Your Grace, Your Will, Your Heart, Your Spirit, because I love You, and ask no other reward but to love You more and more. With a firm love, I will love You with all my heart while on earth and continue to love You perfectly during all eternity. Amen.
Padre Pio’s Prayer after receiving Holy Communion clearly shows that he had a deep love for Jesus Christ, which could also be observed by Mass participants. He often had tears during Mass, reflecting his mystical experience of participating in the Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ, especially through the Stigmata (suffering similar to that of Jesus dying on the Cross). I invite you to choose from the above 14 petitions which one you would like to pray in the silence of your heart after Communion. Padre Pio always emphasized the importance of “Pray”, which leads to increasing “Hope”. Receiving the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Christ in the Eucharist makes each of us hopeful that this experience of the Real Presence of Christ-God gives us a glimpse of Heaven on Earth.
The last week first reading (Isaiah 24: 6-10a) and last week Gospel (the Parable of the Marriage Feast) remind us the Mass is a Sacrifice, but also a Wedding Feast: the wedding of the Son of God and the Church in Heaven. “On this mountain the Lord of Hosts will provide for all peoples a feast of fine food and choice wines, juicy, rich food and pure, choice wines...The Lord God will wipe away the tears from every face...On that day, it will be said: Behold our God, to who we looked to save us!...Let us rejoice and be glad that He has saved us! For the hand of the Lord will rest on this mountain.”
We just experienced a similar joyful event last Sunday— the celebration of 12 years of the Hispanic Ministry at OLHOC! We had a magnificent Eucharistic Celebration with Bishop Menjivar, followed by a Latino Festival in the Father Martin Hall! More to be said next week...
May Padre Pio’s Prayer after the Eucharist assist us individually in being renewed in the Eucharist and in Christ!

INSPIRADORA ORACION DEL PADRE PIO PARA DESPUES DE LA COMUNION
Padre Pio amaba la Eucaristia!! Padre Pio pasaba muchas horas preparandose para la Misa y frecuentemente entraba en ectasis cuando estaba celebrando la Eucarstia— inspirador para toda nuestra parroquia en este Año de Renovacion: Renovado en la Eucaristia! Renovado en Cristo! Hoy, les pido que lentamente mediten acerca de esta hermosa e inspiradora Oracion para despues de Comunion del Padre Pio:
1. Quedate conmigo Señor, porque es necesario tenerte presente para no olvidarte. Tu sabes que facilmente te abandono.
2. Quedate conmigo Señor, porque soy debil y Necesito Tu fuerza.
3. Quedate conmigo Señor, porque Tu eres mi vida, y sin Ti, no tengo fervor.
4. Quedate conmigo Señor, porque Tu eres mi Luz, y sin Ti, estoy en la oscuridad.
5. Quedate conmigo Señor, y muestrame Tu voluntad.
6. Quedate conmigo Señor, asi escuche Tu Voz y te siga.7. Quedate conmigo Señor, porque deseo amarte mas, y siempre estar en Tu lado.
8. Quedate conmigo Señor, si deseas que te sea fiel.
9. Quedate conmigo Señor, porque asi de pobre que es mi alma quiero que sea un lugar de Consuelo para Ti, un nido de Amor.
10. Quedate conmigo Señor, porque se esta haciendo tarde, el dia casi termina, la vida se acaba; la muerte, el juicio, se acerca la eternidad. Es necesario renovar mis fuerzas, para que no me detenga en el camino, y por eso, te necesito. Se hace tarde y la muerte se acerca. Le temo a la oscuridad, a las tentaciones, a la sequedad, a la cruz, al dolor. Te Necesito tanto, mi Jesus, my Jesus, en esta noche de exilio!
11. Quedate conmigo esta noche, Jesus, en vida con todos estos peligros. Te necesito. Dejame reconocerte como lo hicieron tus discipulos al partir el Pan, para que la Comunion Eucaristica sea la Luz que dispersa la oscuridad, la fuerza que me sostiene, la unica alegria de mi corazon.
12. Quedate conmigo, Señor, porque a la hora de mi muerte,quiero permanecer junto a Ti. sino por la comunion, al menos por Gracia y amor.
13. Quedate conmigo, Jesus, no pido Consuelo divino, porque no lo merezco, pero el regalo de Tu presencia, eso si, te lo pido!
14. Quedate conmigo, Señor, porque solo a Ti te Busco por, Tu Amor, Tu Gracia, Tu Voluntad, Tu Corazon, Tu Espiritu, porque te amo,porque no pido otra reconpensa que amarte mas y mas. Con un amor firme, te amare con todo el corazon mientras este en la tierra y perfectamente durante toda la eternidad. Amen.
La Oracion para despues de la recibir la Santa Comunion de Padre Pio claramente muestra el amor profundo que tenia por Jesucristo, el cual tambien se puede ver por los participantes de la Misa. Frecuentemente tenia lagrimas durante la Misa, reflejando su experiencia mistica de participar en la Pasion de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, especialmente a traves del Estigma (sufrimiento similar al de Jesus muriendo en la Cruz). Los invito a escoger de las 14 peticionese n las que podrian orar en el silencio de su corazon despues de comunion. Padre Pio siempre enfatizo la importancia de “Orar”, lo que nos ayuda a aumentar la “Esperanza”. Recibiendo el Cuerpo, Sangre, Alma y Divinidad de Cristo en la Eucaristia nos hace esperanzados de experimentar la Presencia Real; de Dios-Cristo que nos da una probada del Cielo en la Tierra.
La Primera Lectura de la semana pasada (Isaias 24: 6-10a) y el Evangelio (la Parabola de La Boda) nos recuerda que la Misa es un Sacrificio, pero tambien la Fiesta de la Boda: la boda del Hijo de Dios con la Iglesia en el Cielo. “En esta montaña el Señor de los Ejercitos proveera para toda la gente una fiesta con comida fina y una seleccion de vinos, jugos, comida deliciosa y pura, vinos selectos...El Señor Dios enjugara las lagrimas de cada rostro...En ese dia, sera dicho: Miren a nuestro Dios, a quien buscamos para que nos salve! Alegremonos porque El nos ha salvado! Porque la mano del Seor descansara en esta montaña.”
Hemos tenido una experiencia similar con un evento alegre del domingo pasado—la celebracion de los 12 años del MInisterio Hispano de Maria Auxiliadora! Tuvimos una Celebracion Eucaristica magnifica con el Obispo Menjivar, seguida por la gran Fiesta en el Salon Padre Martin! Les contare mas la proxima semana...
Que esta Oracion de Padre Pio nos ayude individualmente a ser renovados en la Eucaristia y en Cristo!
