Lenten Journey In Jubilee Year

February 6, 2025Lent is always a time to repent, a time to convert turning toward God, a time to forgive, a time to fast, a time to share our spiritual and material riches with those in need through spiritual and corporal works of mercy. In this Jubilee Year 2025 it will also be a time to Hope, a time to expect a special encounter with our Lord Jesus Christ, a time to be transformed by opening our hearts to the Holy Spirit, a time to Rejoice, a time to Love and a time to have Inner Peace.
We plan to have all Lenten activities and beyond with a Jubilee Focus:
1. We will have a pre-Lenten parish retreat on Saturday March 1st from 9 AM through 3 PM focusing on the “Jubilee Year 2025 for OLHOC parishioners”. In particular it will assist us to enter our Lenten Spiritual Journey in a Jubilee Year. But it will cover the entire Year 2025. What is the origin and meaning of a Jubilee Year? What specific activities can we do individually or in small groups or as an entire community? What are the possible spiritual fruits? How can we incorporate our Eucharistic Revival activities in the Jubilee Year? I have asked Father Carlos to organize this important Retreat. Please send him directly any suggestions. Also mark your calendars!
2. On Ash Wednesday March 5, we will distribute Holy Cards to all participants including key Lenten activities at OLHOC. We want you to share your Holy card with someone who may have left theChurch or no longer has a purpose in life.
3. We will have a 40-hour “Adoration and Confession” beginning 7 pm Thursday, March 6 and ending noon Saturday, March 8. You will be able to go to Confession at any time during the entire 40 hours.
These are just the first three Lenten activities. Your inputs at this stage are most welcome.
Heavenly Father, help us open our hearts to the Holy Spirit in this Holy Jubilee Year of Hope!

Nuestro Caminar en Cuaresma durante el Año JubilarLa Cuaresma es siempre un tiempo de arrepentimiento, un tiempo para volver a Dios, un tiempo de perdonar, un tiempo de ayuno, un tiempo de compartir nuestras riquezas espirituales y corporales con obras de misericordia. En este año Jubilar 2025 será también un tiempo de Esperanza, un tiempo de esperar un encuentro especial con nuestro Señor Jesucristo, un tiempo de ser transformados abriendo nuestros corazones al Espíritu Santo, un tiempo de Alegrarse, un tiempo de Amar y un tiempo de Paz interior.Planeamos tener todas la actividades de Cuaresma y más allá del Enfoque Jubilar:1. Tendremos un Retiro antes de la Cuaresma el sábado 1 de Marzo desde las 9 AM hasta las 3 PM enfocándonos en “el Año Jubilar 2025 para los feligreses de Maria Auxiliadora”. Principalmente nos ayudará a empezar nuestro Viaje Espiritual de Cuaresma en el Año Jubilar. Esto abarcara todo el Año el 2025. ¿Cuál es el origen y significado de un Año Jubilar? ¿Qué actividades específicas podemos hacer de manera individual o en grupos pequeños en toda nuestra comunidad? ¿Cuáles son los posibles frutos espirituales? ¿Cómo podemos agregar nuestra actividades del Reavivamiento Eucaristico en el Año Jubilar? Le he pedido a Padre Carlos que organice este importante Retiro. Por favor envíele directamente a Él cualquier sugerencia. ¡Marquen sus calendarios también!2. El Miércoles de Ceniza que será el 5 de Marzo, distribuiremos Tarjetas Santas para todos los participantes incluyendo las actividades claves de Cuaresma en Maria Auxiliadora. Queremos que usted comparta su Tarjeta Santa con alguien que haya dejado de venir a la iglesia o no tiene propósito en la vida.
3. Tendremos 40-horas de “Adoración y Confesión” empezando el Jueves 6 de Marzo a las 7 PM y finalizando a mediodía del sábado 8 de Marzo. Usted podrá ir a Confesión a cualquier hora durante las
40 horas.
Estas son solamente las tres primeras actividades de Cuaresma. Todos sus comentarios o ideas son bienvenidas.
