COME LIGHT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT! COME INTO MY HEART!

December 5, 2024I had just entered into the great silence of Adoring Jesus Present in the Blessed Sacrament. I looked at Jesus. HE was looking at me. I felt the power of His Presence. COME LIGHT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT! COME INTO MY HEART! I am waiting. I am attentive. I am listening. I was expecting some word from God. In this total silence, I heard a soft voice in my heart: "Come to me my son and I will give you REST!” In that silent Adoration, I felt PEACE in my heart! It was a most joyful and calm Holy Hour. It was a beautiful way to end the first day of our three- day Advent Mission. I was looking forward to the next two days!
Father Jan had exposed the Blessed Sacrament right after the First Talk by Father David Gunter. It was 7:45 pm Monday December 2nd, the first weekday of the First Week Advent. All the Mission participants had entered into one HOLY HOUR OF ADORATION IN TOTAL SILENCE! This was how Father Gunter had chosen to conclude this first Mission Day. We had begun the evening in the Father Martin Hall at 5:30 pm: we had watched the preview of Father Gunter's amazing documentary on Anna Maria Schmidt, a holy woman who had had an extraordinary life, including time in the Concentration Camp of Auschwitz, and also later in a Russian Gulag: a forced labor camp in Siberia. The most extraordinary event this documentary showed was a miracle of Divine Mercy: the conversion of a pagan Russian guard, who from a murderer of wom- en under his guard became a Christian and a model guard. This miracle happened when God asked Anna Maria: LOVE YOUR ENEMY! You have to see the entire documentary to appreciate the entire miracle of Divine Mercy through the love of Anna Maria. God willing the documentary might soon be released, possibly on EWTN and we will keep you informed.
In his first talk, Father David had reminded us that in God there is no darkness at all, only Light (First Letter of John). That Light is the Holy Spirit that can guide our steps. To enter into that light, we need to be humble, we need to be trusting in God! He gave the example of Anna Maria trying to fix on her own a major leak in her house in Maine. The leak was coming from ice on her roof. She was angry because she had had some earlier work done on her roof to avoid such Leaks in the cold and snowy winters of Maine.
In anger, she climbed onto the roof to try to fix it...This is what we do all the time: trying to fix our life on our own! But we are not alone! The Holy Spirit is there to help us out and find our guardian angels. The Light of the Holy Spirit can guide us. Rarely do we pray to the Holy Spirit. Rarely do we take a moment to stop and pause for prayer in our "busy" lives. Next time you need to make a decision, ask for the help of the Holy Spirit. HE will help you to make the right choice! COME LIGHT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT! COME INTO MY HEART!
I plan to write a future column about the last two days of this Advent Mission, including the experience of the Mass of the Holy Spirit on the second day. As over 100 people attended, do not hesitate to send me one or two gems you discovered so I can share them with everyone. If you have any specific questions about Father Gunter's talks, let me know and I can pass them on to him. We are most grateful to God for Father Gunter's accepting our invitation. His visit was truly a gift of the Holy Spirit.
In this Second Sunday of Advent, St Luke (3:1-6) formally introduces St John the Baptist by proclaiming: "The Word of God came to John the Son of Zechariah in the desert. John went throughout the whole region of the Jordan proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins” thereby fulfilling Isaiah's prophecy of chapter 40 (40:3-5). John the Baptist is "that voice of one crying out in the desert : Prepare the way of the Lord , make straight his paths...and all flesh shall see the Salvation of God".
Let us pray with John the Baptist we too can prepare the way of the Lord to enter into our hearts as we REJOICE at the first Coming of God's Son on earth in just three weeks' time! Come Lord Jesus! Come enter into our hearts! Come and we shall see the Salvation of God!

Father Alain¡VEN, LUZ DEL ESPÍRITU SANTO! ¡VEN A MI CORAZÓN!Acabo de entrar en el silencio para adorar a Jesús presente en el Santísimo Sacramento. Miré a Jesús. Él me miraba. Sentí el poder de Su Presencia. ¡VEN, LUZ DEL ESPÍRITU SANTO! ¡VEN A MI CORAZÓN! Estoy esperando. Estoy atento. Estoy escuchando. Esperaba alguna palabra de Dios. En ese silencio total, escuché una suave voz en mi corazón: "Ven a mí, hijo mío, y te daré descanso". En esa adoración silenciosa, sentí PAZ en mi corazón. ¡Fue una hora santa alegre y serena! Fue una hermosa manera de terminar el primer día de nuestra misión de Adviento que durara tres días. ¡Estaba emocionado por lo que se avecina!
Todos los participantes de la misión habían vivido la HORA SANTA DE ADORACIÓN con TOTAL SILENCIO. Así fue como el Padre Gunter eligió concluir este primer día de la misión. Habíamos comenzado en la tarde en el Salón Padre Martin a las 5:30 pm: vimos un adelanto del increíble documental del Padre Gunter sobre Anna Maria Schmidt, una mujer santa que tuvo una vida extraordinaria, su tiempo en el campo de concentración de Auschwitz, y más tarde en una gulag ruso: un campo de trabajo forzado en Siberia. El evento más extraordinario que mostraba este documental fue un milagro de la Divina Misericordia: la conversión de un guardia ruso pagano, quien, paso de ser un asesino de mujeres a convertirse en un cristiano y modelo de guardia. Este milagro ocurrió cuando Dios exhorto a Anna Maria: ¡AMA A TU ENEMIGO! Ella antes había odiado a ese guardia que amenazaba su vida... Es necesario ver todo el documental para apreciar plenamente el milagro de la Divina Misericordia a través del amor de Anna Maria. Si Dios quiere, el documental podría lanzarse pronto, posiblemente en EWTN; te mantendremos informado.
En su primera charla, el Padre Gunter también nos recordó que en Dios no hay oscuridad, solo Luz (Primera Carta de Juan). Esa Luz es el Espíritu Santo que puede guiar nuestros pasos. Para entrar en esa luz, necesitamos ser humildes, necesitamos confiar en Dios. Dio el ejemplo de Anna Maria, que por sí misma, intento reparar una grieta en su casa de Maine. Provenía del hielo en que había en el techo de su casa. Estaba enojada porque ya había hecho arreglos en su techo para evitar tales fugas en los inviernos fríos y nevados de Maine. En su enojo, subió al techo para intentar arreglarlo... Esto es lo que hacemos todo el tiempo: ¡tratamos de arreglar nuestra vida por nuestra cuenta! Pero no estamos solos. ¡El Espíritu Santo está ahí para ayudarnos! La Luz del Espíritu Santo puede guiarnos. Rara vez oramos al Espíritu Santo. Rara vez nos tomamos un momento para detenernos y orar en nuestras vidas "ocupadas". La próxima vez que necesites tomar una decisión, pide ayuda al Espíritu Santo. ¡ÉL te ayudará a tomar la decisión correcta! ¡VEN, LUZ DEL ESPÍRITUSANTO! ¡VEN A MI CORAZÓN!
Tengo el deseo de escribir una columna sobre los dos últimos días de esta misión de Adviento, incluida la celebración de la Misa del Espíritu Santo el segundo día. Asistieron mas de 100 personas; no dudes en enviarme una o dos perlas que hayas descubierto para que pueda compartirlas con todos. En este Segundo Domingo de Adviento, San Lucas (3:1-6) presenta formalmente a San Juan Bautista proclamando: "La Palabra de Dios llegó a Juan, hijo de Zacarías, en el desierto. Juan recorrió toda la región del Jordán proclamando un bautismo de conversión para el perdón de los pecados", cumpliendo así la profecía de Isaías en el capítulo 40 (40:3-5). Juan Bautista es "esa voz que clama en el desierto: Preparad el camino del Señor, enderezad sus sendas... y toda carne verá la Salvación de Dios".
Oremos con Juan el Bautista para que también nosotros podamos preparar el camino del Señor para que entre en nuestros corazones; mientras celebramos la primera venida del Hijo de Dios a la tierra en solo tres semanas. ¡Ven Señor Jesús! ¡Ven, entra en nuestros corazones! ¡Ven y veremos la Salvación de Dios!
