Sacraments for Older Children:
The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adult - Adopted to Children (RCIA-AC) now referred to as Order of Christian Initiation - Adopted for Children or OoCI-AC  classes are for children ages 8 and above who have not been baptized and for children who have been baptized but have not received any formal religious education and are preparing for Holy Communion.

These classes are also referred to as OoCI-AC and children will need to take 2 classes to receive First Communion instead of 2 years.

Fees for single students in OoCI-AC (no siblings in CCD)
CCD registration fee: $85      1st Communion fee:  $50      Total: $135

Fees for students in OoCI-AC with siblings in CCD: $75 per student
Registration fees for CCD with siblings: either $90 for 2 children in the family or $150 for 3 or more children in CCD
plus additional $75 for 1st Communion fee and OoCI-AC (The first communion fee of $50 plus $25 for additional book for OoCI-AC) Each candidate for OoCI-AC class will have 2 books, one for their regular class and one for OoCI-AC.

A copy of child’s baptismal certificate is to be submitted upon registration.

Children Enrolled in Catholic School:
Parents seeking to receive these sacraments for their child/ren are required to register their child/ren in our Parish School of Religion if they are a registered OLHOC parishioner. They are also required to participate in the monthly parent/child gatherings that are held during the year in the Fr. Martin Hall.  These gatherings are called G.I.F.T. (Growing In Faith Together)  Sacramental Preparation Workshops.

Children who are Homeschooled:
Homeschooled children need to attend both (ccd class and sacramental workshop).  If parents/guardians are willing to teach them religious education at home with Religious Education supervision, then they are only required to attend the sacramental workshops.
